As a result of the pending “Recognition and Reconciliation Act”, treaty negotiations, and the desire for more partnership opportunities there is a strong need for more collaborative and meaningful discussions between local governments and First Nations. The firm’s president has worked extensively with First Nations over his career on many partnered initiatives including developing joint service agreements, emergency planning, transportation plans and has been actively involved for over 10 years with treaty negotiations both at the rural and urban tables. He has also sat on technical advisory working groups for lower mainland municipalities and has been chief negotiator for developing master service agreements with First Nations.
